Thailand-side mirror data (TradingEconomics, calendar 2024) shows Thailand's exports to India at $11.75 billion – a different year and reporting direction, so we're not merging the two into one number.
Here's the correction worth making upfront: Thailand is often assumed to be a major aluminum exporter, but sourced 2023-24 data ranks it only 42nd globally in aluminum trade value, with some datasets showing it as a net importer. India itself is the world's 4th-largest aluminum exporter – the assumption runs backwards. The real, sourced BIS-relevant story in Thailand's exports to India is machinery ($1.26 billion) and electrical machinery ($1.12 billion), a combined figure that dwarfs any aluminum claim we could verify.
