Thick-walled bushes are cylindrical plain bearings - bushings - with a substantial wall thickness, made as a full round without any joint or slit. They come in plain (straight sleeve) and flange types, and are pressed into a housing to provide a hard-wearing, low-friction sliding surface for a rotating or oscillating shaft.
