Standphill India successfully secured two BIS ISI Mark licences for M/s HYG Co., Ltd., a stainless steel pipes and tubes manufacturer based in Ulsan, South Korea. Both licences were granted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on 30 January 2026 — one under IS 17875:2022 for seamless tubes, and one under IS 17876:2022 for welded tubes — enabling HYG Co., Ltd. to legally supply ISI-marked stainless steel pipes and tubes to the Indian market.

This project was executed under the BIS Foreign Manufacturer Certification Scheme (CM/L route), which Standphill India managed end-to-end — from scope planning and documentation through to factory audit support at the Ulsan facility and final licence grant.

HYG Co., Ltd. manufactures stainless steel seamless and welded pipes and tubes in austenitic grades 304, 304L, 316 and 316L — used across chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, oil and gas, and general engineering. To supply these products into India, BIS ISI Mark certification under IS 17875:2022 and IS 17876:2022 is mandatory. Standphill India was engaged to manage the complete dual-standard certification process under the foreign manufacturer scheme.

Both licences were granted under the BIS Foreign Manufacturer Certification Scheme. Licences issued under this scheme carry the CM/L prefix — verifiable on the official BIS portal at manakonline.in. The scheme requires:

• Appointment of an Authorised Indian Representative (AIR)
• Product testing at BIS-recognised laboratories
• A physical BIS factory audit at the overseas manufacturing location
• Compliance with the relevant Indian Standard for every certified grade and size

1. Scope Planning for Dual-Standard Certification

Mapped HYG Co., Ltd.'s product range to the two applicable standards, structured the dual application to avoid duplication, and aligned grades, sizes and processes to each licence scope.

2. Documentation and Application Filing

Prepared and filed both BIS applications (A-4106856 for IS 17875:2022 and A-4106857 for IS 17876:2022) with complete technical specifications, quality system documentation, manufacturing process records, plant and equipment details, and all foreign manufacturer scheme declarations.

3. Product Testing Coordination

Coordinated sample testing at BIS-recognised laboratories for chemical composition, dimensional verification, tensile and yield strength, elongation, and hydrostatic pressure performance for both seamless and welded products.

4. BIS Factory Audit Support — Ulsan, South Korea

Briefed the client's quality team, ensured production records and in-house lab readiness, and supported the on-site BIS audit covering both standards at the Ulsan facility.

5. Licence Grant and Compliance Handover

Managed all post-audit follow-up until both licences were granted on 30 January 2026 and handed over ISI marking, batch documentation and fee-payment guidance to the client.

6. Post-Licence Compliance Advisory

Advised the client on ongoing obligations — ISI marking on every batch supplied to India, surveillance audit readiness, annual fee schedule, and renewal requirements ahead of January 2027.
